3. Disciples and Missionaries

In this area, we must not limit ourselves solely to homilies, lectures, Bible courses or theology courses, but we must have recourse also to the communications media: press, radio and television, websites, forums and many other methods for effectively communicating the message of Christ to a large number of people.

Discipleship and mission are like the two sides of a single coin: when the disciple is in love with Christ, he cannot stop proclaiming to the world that only in him do we find salvation (cf. Acts 4:12). In effect, the disciple knows that without Christ there is no light, no hope, no love, no future.

Jesus teaches us in the bible if you give the hungry food, you are feeding Him, If you give water to the thirsty you are giving water to Him...He teaches us to love our neighbor as ourselves. He also teaches us to share the gospel and pray for one another.

Pope John Paul II...blessed our efforts to communicate through the internet to spread God's word.

And now...Pope Benedict XVI...is telling us the same thing...to be "Disciples and Missionaries" in all ways of communication.

I join his Holiness Pope Benedict, in prayer that more and more disciples and missionaries out there who are able to start a prayer forum, or a website, radio program, press, television, to do so. If you have the means and the talent to share Jesus...you should.

Who are the disciples and missionaries "all of us" we are His hands, His feet, His voice, His ears, His arms for comfort, His heart for understanding and compassion.
