"A Lenten Garden
Dedicated to Jesus "
I pray this garden will Glorify Jesus
and be all that He would want it to be.
I would
like to thank the "Prayer Angels" who
are taking
this journey with me this Lenten Season.
As this garden grows, we will learn
together ways to
"peel away the sin" and let God "in".
I created this garden to help me walk
closer to Jesus... peeling away the things
that keep me from His grace.
If you stop by and visit, we welcome you
to take this journey with us.
I have always heard that Lent is a time
to become more aware of the sin in our
lives and to "die" to it and pray for
the grace to be renewed in Jesus.
The Holy Spirit led Jesus into the
Dessert...

JUDEAN DESERT WHERE JESUS WAS TEMPTED
"spiritual
dryness"
My picture of it would look like in the
Lenten Garden below...

The
blessing in "spiritual dryness" is that
you are ready to soak up all that
healing cleansing water that Jesus wants
to pour in and upon you...Jesus uses
that "dryness" to draw us closer and
closer to Him.

"He Gently Calls Us"
Lord Jesus, you suffered so much to
save us. Help us this Lenten Season
to shed all that keeps us from seeing You in our lives. Help us
to know you are
untangling the thorns around us because You already wore them
for us, I love you Jesus. Amen

The Gift of Prudence
I, wisdom live with prudence, and I attain
knowledge and discretion,
The fear of the lord is hatred of evil.
Pride and arrogance and the way of evil
and perverted speech I hate.
I have good advice and sound wisdom;
I have insight, I have strength.
By me kings reign,
and rulers decree what is just;
by me rulers rule,
and nobles, all who govern rightly.
Proverbs 8:12-16
Prayer
God of wisdom and love, help me to see that I am your
beloved, that your truth is my light in this dark world,
and that your steady hand is my joy and my safety net.
Grant me the prudence and perception to recognize those
deceptive lures that obstruct and pervert my attention
and sidetrack my path to you. Help me to learn to count
on your infinite skill to guide me clearly in a hostile world.
Amen.

Faithfulness
in Small Things
Then Jesus said..."Whoever
is faithful in a very little is
also faithful in much; and
whoever dishonest in a very
little is dishonest also in
much. If then you have not been
faithful with the dishonest
wealth, who will entrust to you
the true riches? If you have not
been faithful with what belongs
to another, who will give you
what is your own? No slave can
serve two masters; for a slave
will either hate the one and
love the other, or be devoted to
one and despise the other.
You cannot serve God and
wealth." Luke 16:10-13
Prayer
Prayer...Father
help me this week to focus on the
"little things" that may be big in Your
eyes...Let the bread of Life that is You
feed my every thought...May I Father, be
blessed to feel Your presence inside of
me, in my heart, in my soul, in my mind,
in my spirit...completely overtaking my
being Sweet Jesus, embrace me...so that
my thoughts are only Your expressions in
my life...I love you so much Sweet
Jesus...Amen

Acknowledge God's Love
The most important thing you
have to say about God’s love is
that God loves us not because of
anything we’ve done to earn that
love, but because God, in total
freedom, has decided to love
us. At first site, this doesn’t
seem to be very inspiring; but
if you reflect on it more deeply
this thought can affect and
influence your life greatly.
Were inclined to see our whole
existence in terms of quid pro
quo. We assume that people will
be nice to us if we are nice to
them; that they will help us if
we help them; …that they will
love us if we love them. And
so the conviction is deeply
rooted in us that being loved is
being something you have to
learn…. We can scarcely
conceive of getting something
for nothing.
Henri J. M. Nouwen, Letters to
Marc about Jesus.
Luke 6:27-31
Jesus looked up at his disciples
and said: "But I said to you
that listen, Love your enemies,
do good to those who hate you,
Bless those who curse you, Pray
for those who abuse you. If
anyone strikes you on the cheek,
offer the other also; and from
anyone who takes away your coat
do not withhold even your
shirt. Give to everyone who
begs from you; and if anyone
takes away your goods, do not
ask for them again. Do to
others as you would have them do
to you."
Prayer
God most high, please take me
back again into your love that I
can never earn. I confess that
I have fail, that your
forgiveness is wholly
undeserved. I am mired in the
human belief that love is
something I earn, that others
will only love me if I act as if
I love them. What can I do with
a love that is not rationed,
that is boundless, that cannot
be withdrawn. I am truly awed.
Grant me the grace to accept
this gift. Amen.
Lenten Action
This week pray for any who have
abused you, pray for your
enemies, and return good for
evil.

Jesus' Supreme
Humility
Meditation: As Jesus' hour of humiliation draws
near he reveals to his disciples the supreme
humility which shaped the love he had for them.
He stoops to perform a menial task reserved for
servants -- the washing of smelly, dirty feet.
In stooping to serve his disciples Jesus knew he
would be betrayed by one of them and that the
rest would abandon him through disloyalty. Such
knowledge could have easily led to bitterness or
hatred. Jesus met the injury of betrayal and
disloyalty with the greatest humility and
supreme love. Jesus loved his disciples to the
very end, even when they failed him and forsook
him. The Lord loves each of us unconditionally.
His love has power to set us free to serve
others with Christ-like compassion and humility.
Does the love of Christ rule in your heart and
thoughts and in your actions?
"Lord Jesus, your love conquers all and never
fails. Help me to love others freely, with
heart-felt compassion , kindness and goodness.
Where there is injury, may I sow peace rather
than strife."
